How Vibrational Therapies Work

Everything vibrates—matter, sound, light, energy. Every organ in the body resonates at a specific frequency, as do viruses, bacteria, and parasites.

Marney A. White, PhD, MS, notes, “Researchers have found that vibrations and the electromagnetic energy associated with them cause changes in your cells, which can then affect how your body functions.”

With any disease or illness, there are energies that are out of balance – vibrations that are out of harmony with the body’s natural state of health and wholeness. In other words, there is a discordant vibration of energy.

There can also be energy blockages, such as unprocessed emotions that get stuck in the body and energy field.

Sound vibrations have the power to alter brain waves, move and re-pattern energies, release ‘trapped’ emotions, increase (or decrease) relaxed states, reduce (or increase) stress, and facilitate (or hinder) healing.

Harmonious frequencies create harmony and balance in the energies, cells, tissues, organs, systems and brainwaves of the body and surrounding energy field. They can balance hormone levels in the body and nurture healthy cell function among numerous other functions.

It’s like a deep tissue massage for your energy, leaving you relaxed, refreshed, and balanced physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically.

Examples of vibrational healing include:

-Music therapy
-Sound therapy (listening to specific frequencies)
-Humming
-Chanting
-Vocal toning
-Tuning forks
-Tibetan singing bowls
-Crystal singing bowls

Humming is an easy and effective one to work with yourself and one I ‘prescribe’ to all of my clients. Humming vibrates you on a cellular level and when used consciously – with intention – is a powerful healing force.

In fact, humming increases the body’s production of nitric oxide, which has numerous roles in one’s health (vascular tone, delivers oxygen to mitochondria, supports cellular immunity, and much more).

Chanting sacred sounds is a sacred practice in many ancient traditions, from Christianity (Gregorian Chants) to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Shamanic traditions. In addition to chanting’s ability to bring about meditative states and expanded consciousness, studies are now revealing that chanting has a positive effect on physiological markers such as blood pressure, cardiovascular health, and cell health, to name a few.

You can also listen to music with healing frequencies – binaural beats or solfeggio tones.
